Europeans Warn of Terror Attacks in Event of War in Iraq

Investigations and arrests of terrorist suspects throughout Europe reveal evidence of possible terrorist action against European cities should war with Iraq break out. Those arrested, mostly immigrants from Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia, were recruited, trained, and supplied by radical groups in Chechnya and Afghanistan. The large population of Muslim immigrants in Western Europe and the porous borders between European countries make it difficult for police to track down terrorists and their new recruits. Terrorist attacks, French experts say, may be a price Europeans will just have to pay if war is waged on Iraq. – YaleGlobal
